Route_66

2006

Freedom Baptist Church started in a banquet room of the Double Tree Hotel on bloomington's east side.

2007

FBC moved to a rented storefront on West College ave in Normal.

2008

A building is purchased and remodeled at 2405 E Washington St., Bloomington.  The building

had served as a music  store, and office building and was being used by the City of Refuge

Church which was moving to downtown.

2014

After much prayer and searching God lead us to purchase several acres on Bloomington's

South West side.  The land is at the corner of Veterans Parkway and Fox Creek Road, which

is part of Historic Route 66.

In 1963 Howard Johnson Motor Lodge was built on this property for $1.5 million.

                                1990  The hotel became The Parkway Inn 1999    It was renamed The Knight's Inn 2002   The name was changed to The Sunset Inn 2004   Hotel becomes The Rodeway Inn 2005   Reaffiliated with Howard Johnson; a $2.8 million renovation starts 2008   Foreclosure case filed in McLean County Circuit Court 2014    The property is sold to Freedom Baptist Church 2016    Sunday May 15, 2016 Freedom Baptist paid off the balance of the mortgage on the new property.
