Freedom Baptist Church started in a banquet room of the Double Tree Hotel on bloomington's east side.
FBC moved to a rented storefront on West College ave in Normal.
A building is purchased and remodeled at 2405 E Washington St., Bloomington. The building
had served as a music store, and office building and was being used by the City of Refuge
Church which was moving to downtown.
After much prayer and searching God lead us to purchase several acres on Bloomington's
South West side. The land is at the corner of Veterans Parkway and Fox Creek Road, which
is part of Historic Route 66.
In 1963 Howard Johnson Motor Lodge was built on this property for $1.5 million.
